    Lycian Way

Lycia was the ancient name of the peninsula, which we know today as the Teke Peninsula, connects the east of Muğla to Antalya and extends towards the Mediterranean. The Lycian Civilization, one of the most prominent civilizations of the ancient period, spent many years in this region, which is surrounded by forests.

The Lycian Way is a walking path of approximately 540 kilometers, starting from Fethiye in the east of Muğla and ending in the west of Antalya, on the Lycia (or Teke Peninsula) in the south of Türkiye and Anatolia. The road takes around a month to complete on average.  The trail starts from Ölüdeniz (Deadsea) in Fethiye and ends at Geyikbayırı.

This route, marked from beginning to end, is Türkiye's first long-distance walking route and the foremost aim in designing the route is to recognize and protect the old roads in Anatolia.
